WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
As part of GWECCC 2025, the UNFCCC Regional Collaboration Centre for MENA and South
Asia will host a workshop on advancing the development and implementation of Nationally
Determined Contributions (NDCs) in the GCC region by strengthening synergies and through
unlocking the opportunities provided by the operationalization of Article 6.
The side event is designed to provide an engaging platform for government representatives,
support providers, and stakeholders from the private sector and civil society, with a focus
on providing further clarities on opportunities offered by – and next steps to ensure
operationalization of Article 6 in the GCC region – including in the context of NDC development
and implementation. It will also provide an opportunity to focus on potential synergies between
NAPs and NDCs.
